Day 9 - SimpATS: Simple Applicant Tracking System
kataqatsi
While working on NearbyRemote, I realized something important: there wasn’t an easy way for people to apply to jobs directly on the platform. The available applicant tracking systems (ATS) felt overly complicated, with subscription models that didn’t fit what I needed.
So, I built my own: SimpATS.com.
Why Build SimpATS?
I wanted something minimal and straightforward. No bloated features, no confusing pricing tiers—just a simple tool that gets the job done.
Key Features:
- Job Post Management: Create and manage job postings effortlessly.
- Applicant Tracking: View and organize applicants without complicated filters or unnecessary options.
- Free to Use: No subscriptions or hidden fees—just straightforward functionality.: Pay-as-you-go or one-time pricing, keeping costs predictable.
Lessons Learned:
- Start with a Pain Point: SimpATS exists because I needed something NearbyRemote lacked. Solving your own problem is often the best place to begin.
- Keep It Simple: Fancy features sound great, but simplicity wins when speed and usability matter.
- Build What You Need: Instead of getting locked into an ATS subscription, I built what fit my exact requirements.
SimpATS.com is live now and completely free to use. If you’re looking for a lightweight, no-frills ATS, give it a try. It’s currently lacking many features, dm me for feature requests.
